Services
Collective Bargaining
I work with a variety of private and public sector union clients to assist in negotiating fair employment contracts on their behalf. This includes meeting with negotiations committees, counseling unions on contract legalities, and meeting with employers to negotiate contract terms.
Mediation
In mediation (a type of alternative dispute resolution), I serve as a neutral third party to help the parties involved resolve labor disputes on their own. This type of resolution is typically faster and more cost-effective than litigation. It also allows the parties to control the resolution of their dispute, rather than have a court or other third party decide the outcome.
Grievance Arbitration
I represent clients in grievance arbitration proceedings when there is a suspected violation of a collective bargaining agreement. I have handled numerous grievance arbitration cases ranging from wage and overtime matters to disciplinary issues, such as wrongful termination.
Interest Arbitration
In interest arbitration, I work specifically with police unions to facilitate a resolution to contract disputes where the parties have been unable to reach an agreement on their own.
Litigation
Sometimes labor disputes cannot be resolved outside of the courtroom and litigation becomes necessary. I handle the entire litigation process and work diligently to ensure the most successful outcome for my clients consistent with my ethical responsibilities as an attorney.
Training & Presentations
I offer training sessions and presentations to clients and other organizations on a range of labor-related topics, including:
- Grievance processing
- Arbitration
- Employment discrimination
- Family and Medical Leave Act
- Duty of fair representation
- Taylor Law
